Charitable Lead Trust
- You may wish to consider giving cash or securities to Make-A-Wish, Hawaii, by establishing a charitable lead trust. This trust will pay income to Make-A-Wish for a certain period of years after your death. Once that period is up, the trust passes to your family or other heirs. The trust is known as the charitable lead because the charity gets the first, or lead, interest.

Charitable Remainder Trusts- The charitable remainder trust is the mirror of the charitable lead trust. There are two types of charitable remainder trusts.

One is the charitable remainder annuity trust, under which donors receive a fixed dollar payment, or annuity, each year until their deaths, regardless of whether the trust assets rise or fall in value. A conservative investor is usually attracted to this kind of trust.

Under the second type of charitable trust, the charitable remainder unitrust, the annuity or annual payment is based on a percentage figure chosen by the donor. The payment can fluctuate from year to year as the value of the trust assets changes. Since a well managed portfolio can expect to appreciate each year, the unitrust contains a built-in hedge against inflation. Remember though, that the assets in the unitrust could decline in value, too-a possibility that may only be acceptable to donors with a higher tolerance to risk.

In-kind -A large portion of the resources we use to fulfill our mission are gifts of: goods and services such as airline tickets, office space, theme park admissions, accommodations and office supplies. For this extremely generous support, we are deeply grateful.

Lucas

Wish Sponsors:
Rebekah Lodge IOOF

Lucas, like most five year olds, is very interested in Disney. So, when asked what he wanted for his wish, he requested one of the most popular wish destinations...Disney World. Lucas and his family spent Spring Break in sunny Florida visiting the various Disney theme parks and meeting the many Disney characters. They had opportunity to enjoy the neighboring attractions, as well. The family was incredibly moved by the kindness and generosity of the staff and volunteers at Give Kids the World and mentioned that everyone recognized the Make-A-Wish logo and treated Lucas fabulously. Thanks to the generosity of sponsor Pacific Rebekah Lodge IOOF, Lucas and his family enjoyed the wish of a lifetime.
