Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort & Spa’s 3rd Annual Swing for Wishes Golf Tournament exceeded this year’s goal raising $60,000 to grant the wishes of island children who have been diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions. Given the current economic conditions, organizers are extremely pleased with the outcome of the October 15 tournament.
“Making wishes come true is the best part of any business,” says David Lewin general manager of Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort & Spa. "We are proud to honor Hyatt's longstanding commitment to making a difference and supporting the community, even during difficult times.”
The goal for 2009 was to donate over $53,000, which would surpass the record set in 2008. Raising $7,000 more was a welcome reward for the extra effort put into the fundraiser this year by both volunteers and staff. In excess of 170 players, 20 volunteers, and more than 50 sponsors contributed to the successful campaign. A lighting ceremony and check presentation is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa, located at 2424 Kalakaua Avenue, on Friday, December 4.
